Come and Join the Northern Short Story Festival Academy

We are delighted to announce that applications for the Northern Short Story Festival Academy will open on September 5th.

What’s it all about?

The Northern Short Story Festival Academy is a development programme which will help short story writers in Yorkshire develop their work to the next level. Perhaps you’ve published a few stories already, in print or online, or had stories placed or longlisted in competitions. If you’re serious about short story writing, and are resident in Yorkshire, we want to hear from you!

Participants will join a monthly workshop critique group led by writer Anna Chilvers, where they will read and critique each others’ stories. Participants will also have opportunity to have a short story critiqued by an experienced short story writer or literary editor based in the region; access to an Academy Masterclass; and will take part in the Northern Short Story Festival, 2019 (2-3 June). The workshop group will take place once a month on a Tuesday evening in Leeds.

This is a rare development opportunity for short story writers in our region. Places on the scheme are limited and entry is by application only. Applications will be open from September 5th to October 6th.
