Make 2014 an eventful year!

York National Book Fair

You may or may not have stumbled across a page on our blog called Yorkshire Literary Festivals & Book Fairs

Why not kick off the new year with a literary event or two? We have put our heads together at the Leeds Big Bookend to create this list of the festivals and fairs we know of and support in the Yorkshire area.

Most notably we have the York National Book Fair on January 11th (only 8 sleeps to go!!) located in the Knavesmire Suite at the York Racecourse. This Book Fair began in 1974, and has grown to become the biggest rare, antiquarian and out-of-print book fair in the U.K. The event returns on 19th and 20th September 2014. For more information, visit http://www.yorkbookfair.com/, or visit their Facebook page.

Following on from York are February’s book fairs in Leeds and Clapham Village. You can find the Leeds Book Fair at Dawsons Corner, Stanningley on Sunday 2nd Feb – more information here. Soon after on Sunday 23rd is the Clapham Village Book Fair, co-ordinated by Peter Fry.

For a full list of the year’s bookish goings-on in Yorkshire, then check out our Festivals page. If you know of any events we can add to our list, please let us know. It’s so exciting to see so many literary events in the area!

P.S. Of course, don’t forget to put the 2014 dates for the Leeds Big Bookend in your diary – Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th June!!
