The Book of Darkness & Light, Friday 9th October for Light Night Leeds

“Legend has it that centuries ago, somewhere beneath the streets of Leeds, a tome of strange and haunting tales was buried. This Light Night a story will be told aloud from its pages for the very first time…”

As part of Light Night 2015, Leeds writer Adam Z. Robinson and musician Ben Styles have created a new storytelling experience.

Taking place in the beautiful and historic St John the Evangelist Church, this fantastical Leeds-centric ghost story will be read to the sounds of an original score of haunting violin music. The story, created specifically for Light Night and set in a fictionalised version of the church which is hosting the performances, is a chilling account of a ghostly encounter.

Discover a terrible, tragic and heart-stopping tale told with charm. Be thrilled, chilled and thoroughly entertained by this brand new storytelling experience.

The story will be told five times over the evening and admission is free although it may be a good idea to arrive early to secure a seat (and to take in the beautiful church, of course!). Each performance lasts 30 minutes.

Performance times: 6.30pm, 7.30pm, 8,30pm, 9.30pm. 10.30pm

Venue: St John the Evangelist Church, 23 New Briggate, Leeds, LS2 8JD
